Thanksgiving Recipe Round Up

I seriously love Fall! It really is my favourite time of year. The colours. The crisp air. Boot and scarves. And Thanksgiving. I thought I would share with you some ideas of how you can enjoy your meal at Thanksgiving without feeling deprived. If you haven’t already ready my post on Navigating the Holiday Meal, go give it a read for some ideas of how to approach your holiday meal.

Now for some ideas of a menu that will leave you feeling satisfied but not like you have completely derailed your health goals. Check out Skinnytaste’s Slow Cooker Turkey Breast and Gravy for a great protein option. What’s great about this recipe is that it doesn’t require a lot of attention. You can start it and then go enjoy time with your family!

Next up is veggies! I love me some Brussel sprouts. I know that isn’t everyone’s taste so you can also check out my latest recipe, Garlic Roasted Carrots.

If you are looking for a warm, comforting carb that is packed with vitamins and minerals, consider making Nom Nom Paleo’s Roasted Garlic Autumn Mash. It even has some cauliflower hidden in there…but shhhhh, I won’t tell anyone. Be warned that the recipe itself doesn’t take long but it does have roasted garlic that can take some time.

Lastly, dessert. For me, there is nothing better than warm Apple Crisp topped with some ice cream. Tooooootally worth it for me.

While we are here, let’s talk about some ideas for that left over turkey. How about a Turkey Cobb Salad or Turkey Tacos with Brussel Sprout Slaw?

Happy Thanksgiving! Enjoy your time with friends and family. Remember, this is the time to focus on being thankful. Our body and health included. ❤️
